About the guesthouse
The Island Light Guesthouse is a small fictional guesthouse with three sample room types, kept by two people who came to the island for one summer and stayed. It has no restaurant, no pool, and no schedule of activities. It has a breakfast table, a terrace, a garden, and a gate onto the coastal path.
A stay here is meant to be simple. The rooms are cleaned each morning, breakfast is served at whatever hour the light suggests, and advice about the island is given freely, often at length, usually with a map drawn on the back of an envelope.
What we promise
- Quiet. The guesthouse is not a party place, and we like it that way.
- Simplicity. Plain rooms, good linen, no extras you did not ask for.
- Honesty. If the weather will be bad, we will tell you before you arrive.

The guesthouse itself is fictional, created as the example project for a beginner's book on making websites. The island, the rooms, and the illustrations are invented for learning purposes.
